About Kidz Closet
Kidz Closet Consignments & Resale, Inc., was established in 2003 by two stay-at-home moms, Lori Burd and Jill Peterson, who understood the need for affordable children's clothing and accessories. Their mission was to offer their customers nothing but the best in previously owned children's items--the community and its connections the core of their mission.
Now under new ownership, Tabitha ("Tabi") Hutchinson wants to continue to meet that need and to preserve the sound reputation and conscientious concern to detail fostered by Lori and Jill. Tabi is a native of Rockford and in November of 2003, at the age of 36, became mom to a baby boy, Nickolas (Nicky). Following Nicky's birth, she was an avid customer at Kidz Closet and appreciated the low prices, quality product and friendly atmosphere offered at KCCRI.
Tabi, her husband Michael, and their children, teenagers Jamie and Matthew and toddler Nicky, plan to make this a family business in the true sense of the word. They look forward to serving old as well as new customers; helping clients turn no-longer needed items into cash; providing a service to the community by "recycling"; and by being gentle on the pocketbooks of their customers by offering inexpensive children's clothing and accessories.
